For those interested in the stats: thread 19 was our slowest thread (37 days; c. 27 posts per day) since thread 9. That's 7 days longer and 8 PPD slower than the next longest 2019 thread.

I'm attributing that change to the tech issues GG was having for a week or so, and the fact that since she's started in Les Mis, her assholery has significantly decreased (although it seems to be on the uptick again. I guess she's bored).

Ok, so I'm new here. Haven't been following Carrie in 2-3 years - WTF HAPPENED? She looks like a completely different person, I couldn't believe it was her at first! She also somehow sounds somewhat different and is so much more obnoxious than she used to be. I'm shocked, can anyone explain?

I'm reading the 1 and 2 stars reviews on Goodreads of "When The Curtain falls". Most of them call out Carrie in the fact she is not a very talented writer (she switches povs like crazy and makes people confused), there is no point of Oliver and Oscar or how terrible Olive is but there is this one:

(Worse, the sexual abuser in the story turns into a (semi spoiler alert) ghost who possesses people. Sexual abusers are scary enough without having to also be demons who take over people's minds. We don't need to make them *more* scary. They are already maximally scary.)

I'm sorry but...what the eff? Someone who read her book can explain this?

Regarding stage door, there was a time when Jodie Steele was on tour with Rock of Ages and came to my city. I was walking home from work, which happened to be past my local theatre and the stage door, I’d seen her in Heathers and didn’t have a chance to meet her then but I really wanted to at least say hi now as I might not get a chance to again. I felt a bit bad and explained I hadn’t just seen this particular show but I was a fan of her work. Jodie was so lovely and humble about it, she told me to stop being silly and that I was welcome to take a selfie with her.... just goes to show two very different attitudes!

Ngl I love bad book reviews in general, but I especially love bad reviews of Carrie's books since she puts absolutely no effort into them whatsoever.
