There is a time and place for everything but when you have boring kids and a boring life you have to make every fun moment last. It certainly takes away from others, but I think vlogging in general takes away from something or someone. Even if you’re a vlogger in Target. Sure we like to watch our favorite people doing everyday stuff. Imagine what it’s like to go shopping with Katie or Annie or Jill or whomever. But when you’re at the same store couldn’t give two craps about who that strange middle aged woman walking around with a camera pointed at her teenage daughter, you may not want her capturing you in the background looking like a dummy cause you’re just living your life and you didn’t ask to be on camera. But now it’s on the internet for all their little fans to see and maybe their fans don’t even notice you. But imagine you are at the store cause you need cat food and you didn’t put makeup on or do your hair cause it’s just Target. But oh no, there’s Jill Donnelly and her kids filming their shopping trip. Would you want to be caught in the background and then plastered on YouTube? Probably not. But I see so many people when vloggers Film in Public that who are just so unaware that they are now on YouTube whether they wanted to be or not.
Your Target example reminded me of a vlog from a few years ago where Katie and Annie are goofing off while vlogging in a grocery store and accidentally ran into a woman. She told them to watch where they are going because other people were shopping and they titled the vlog "The Lady Yelled at Us In The Grocery Store". Poor woman was just trying to do her shopping and ended up being the star of a Donnelly vlog.
I remember that vlog! They're still the same and are entitled. Not only do some people not want to be on camera, but they feel like they can do whatever they want just because they have a camera in hand.

So they said that they didn't have anything planned for Ryan's actual birthday. I'm sorry but last I checked, taking that sponsorship opportunity was completely optional. Please tell me they at least got the kid a cupcake or something. Hayley has a birthday on the sponsored trip to Australia, and she was a little bummed about it-- they went and got cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday to her, and gave her presents in the hotel room, and she was so happy. Turning 13 is a huge deal. And you can bet that if it had been Katie's 13th, there would have been a huge deal made.
Treating Ryan's birthday like a total afterthought is not ok..
Oh, and Jill acts selfish because she IS selfish. She is entitled and oblivious to anyone outside her little bubble. She really, really irritates me. Even her own family isn't important enough to warrant thoughtfulness-- not bringing the items she was supposed to bring to the beach house, whining about not being able to film a wedding when the bride and groom expressly requested it, filming other family functions, probably without asking, etc... Betting her reaction to someone asking she not film is a passive aggressive remark followed by a laugh.

I'm pretty sure Jill said they were flying back on his birthday. So no matter what, he's not gonna see his parents when he wakes up on his birthday. Honestly I hope they got him something on his actual birthday. Jill and Mike are lucky Ryan is such a pushover. Yeah missing Ryan's day doesn't seem like a huge deal but god forbid they miss Katie's..

I feel bad for Ryan. Katie looked like she wished she were anywhere else. She could have at least pretended to watch him open 3 presents.

Ryan only got 3 presents off his family and one of them was Hair Gel. It looks looked very little effort went into Ryan’s 13th birthday.

It will be interesting to see the difference in a few weeks when Katie Turns 15 as I BET there is a marked difference. Ryan is such a great kid as well which makes it that much more frustrating to watch.

Fancy making a kid on his birthday wait 24 hours to open presents because they was too busy and arrogant they thought that was acceptable to film it.

Also I forgot to add that Mike was annoyed that he had to come downstairs and watch his son open his gifts because he was “tired”. How about if you had let your son open his actual gifts on his birthday instead of the following day at 11pm that would not of even been a issue!!!

One of the most irritating things about this family is the ridiculous way they've laid out their house.

The living space, kitchen and dining space are all squished together on that first floor, whilst the lower floor has the same amount of space but only includes 2 office desks and a bunch of bean bags.

Any smart person would move the office desks upstairs (to the 'living room' part where the TV/sofas currently are) and have the downstairs as one big spacious living room.

I wouldn’t have done that. I would leave it the way it is. But make the downstairs “basement”(?) another living space as well. Like a living room (the formal room that no one uses) and then the family room (that is usually more casual and where people actually spends their time). But because the open concept layout of their house is all in that small area, if I walked into the kitchen and looked across the space and saw an office, it would be weird.

I hate their house. Like they literally have no front entryway. It opens up right to the kitchen and it’s not like they have a garage that they park in and use the garage entry 99% of the time. That’s literally their front door. Right there smooshed between the refrigerator and the stairs. It’s just so weird. I mean I guess it’s nice when you have large shopping hauls that you don’t have to bring your bags across the house to the kitchen. Like my house has a door in the kitchen that leads to the garage so you don’t have to lug your groceries. But my friends house doesn’t have that so you have to bring them across the family room and the dining room and into the kitchen. It’s a long walk when you’re carrying heavy groceries.

But the front door like that is a weird design and makes the house look very small. Also I didn’t think the downstairs was the same size. I thought it was half the size. Katie and Annie used to do gymnastics down there. But now it just seems like it’s the teen hangout.

Aw, I'm happy Ryan had a good birthday party. And even though I find it a bit weird that they went to the playground (but then again – I'm also glad they're not too cool for the playground), hearing how Ryan included that kid who was all alone gives me hope for him as a teenager. It was good to hear Brennan be nice to him too, Brennan might be a bit dull, but he has an overall good attitude, I'd say.

Also, am I the only one who doesn't see a difference in Katie's hair before and after she had it re-dyed after accidentally using toner on it? Obviously right after it looks different, because it's been straightened and is shiny, but other than that I don't see any difference – and definitely not enough to warrant spending money on re-doing it.

As for the house, I think they could utilize their basement better. I would also keep the living room the way it is now, it's a nice place to gather near the kitchen island, where they spend a lot of time. I do feel like there's a lot of space in the basement they never use, mostly they seem to use the desks and then sit on the floor to play video games, but then again, I guess it's an area for the kids and their friends to hang out.

Did the family take a week off from blogging as we had Ryan’s birthday and then his party which was a week later was shown today?

Maybe Jill released nobody wants to watch blogs that are 6 days out of date.

I never notice a difference in Katie's hair either. Every time she gets it done, it literally looks exactly the same to me. Good to know it's not just me!

I think they use their house the best way they can- they have to fit 5 people in that small space.
I also didn't notice any real difference in Katie's hair but if that's how they want to spend their money, fine. I could be wrong but I think they're still a week behind in vlogs and at this point I think they should just start over again and delete the footage from the past week.

WE NEED A NEW THREAD - any name ideas??

It’s the Donnelly’s forgetting about Ryan.

It’s the Donnelley’s thriving

It’s the Donnelley’s and their week old vlogs.

It’s the Donnelley’s: Kannie reunion for the views.

Grrrr! Forgot the login credentials to my old account but I am back. And it looks like I'm back just in time for a new thread. I'm not the best at coming up with ideas but I'll try:

It's The Donnellys: Always Ready for an Icy Adventure BRUH
It's the Donnellys and Its Another Flight
It's the Donnellys: Peace Signs and Privilege
It's the Donnellys: Teenage Vanity
It's the Donnellys: Trying Way too Hard to be Cool
It's the Donnellys: Mike, Jill and their conceited overachievers

I could go on and on.

When it comes to their house, the location is great. But with a location like that you're obviously going to have to compromise. If I was living in a house that size with 5 people, I'd go insane. If I was the owner if that house, I'd knock down the wall of Katie's bedroom that houses the TV in the living room, and I'd add a another floor. They'd get soooo much more space that way. But they won't do that, because Jill needs to use the money to hop on a plane every other day to satisfy her addiction.

They have a huge yard they seemingly never use, so they could do an extension to their house and get loads of extra space that way (both in the basement and on the main floor), but they did say in some assumptions or Q&A video that they prefer to prioritize traveling and such over a big house. Plus, Brennan will be out of the house in what, a couple of years?

I actually kind of admire that they didn't move to a giant house after gaining "fame" on Youtube like a lot of other families do. However, that house does seem awfully small for two adults and three teens. I guess they figure it won't be long until Brennan and even Katie go to college or move out or maybe they don't want to potentially have to make their kids change schools and be away from friends depending on where they move.

I’m sure if they were getting at least 500k views per video, they’d be living in a much larger house right now. Likely still in the Annapolis area. There are some really nice houses near them (including the LeBlancs old house, which was a favorite of mine). But they average less than 100k views a video. And with a million plus subs, that’s not good. I’m sure they could easily afford a newer, nicer house in the area. They just need to chill on traveling for a little while, which we all know they won’t do.
