So collete’s latest video is about being in tune to our feelings and how you shouldn’t mask them with drugs, food, sex etc. First of all who told her that she isn’t allowed to feel anger or other emotions? Her church? I saw a interview with an ex polygamist who said that the woman were taught to be sweet at all times. I am assuming that most Mormon women are taught the same. The more she does these videos about fear, feelings etc we start to see how she is deeply effected by her unfaithful husband. This is just the beginning. Once she finally releases all of her emotions she might finally get a courage to think rationally and start to eliminate people in her life that are repressing her.

Don't you realize it's a "nifty little Mormon trick" to NOT feel emotions? LOL, that's from the play Book of Mormon, but 100% accurate. This song from the play totally reminds of most of the Mormon YT families...(especially Jared Mecham).

I love the Book of Mormon musical. Everytime I listen to it, I think of the similarities with mormon vloggers.

My best friend is Mormon and we'd have sleepovers all the time.....

Mine too. But we lived in the SF Bay Area. It wasn't as "Utah Mormon bubble" I knew one family with 8 kids. The rest were pretty "normal" except for the Walnut Creek girls. They were well off and stuck up. The worst was when my best friend started dating a South African exchange student. He was "colored" (South African term-- meant he had white blood so he had more rights-- yes, I am OLD) and they gave her so much grief for dating a black guy. Made me so angry.

I would just like to input that I am not a Mormon and my son will not be allowed sleepovers either.

I don't judge anyone that allows them however I think it's wrong to judge people that don't! If you look up the stats it's really just not worth the risk to me. We also don't know their past and if something has happened to impact their decision.

And for everyone talking about the dodgy uncle it's not even just that look up statistics about it happening among peers, it shocked me when I read an article and it definitely cemented my opinion ... if your a parent you know it's your job to protect them first look after their happiness second... just thought I would add my 2cents in so you could see a different perspective on it, it might have nothing to do with Mormonism (:

In Colette's snapchat story it's nice to see avia playing with her brothers and having a good time, smiling for real, not for show. I get the feeling that shay makes her uncomfortable every time he turns the camera on these days so people are assuming she is being a bratty teen, but she is just trying to protect herself.

I wasn’t allowed sleep overs either lol. If I wanted one people had to come to my house but I couldn’t go to theirs. My parents didn’t trust other people that weren’t family. And we’re not religious.

I think Vlogging Mormons, for the most part, give regular Mormons a bad name. A friend of mine is Mormon with a bunch of kids and when she husband cheated and refused to make serious changes she left him and her family and church supported her.

I wonder what they think when they see it, then. It's clearly critical of mormonism and cults and the likes. How do they feel when they sing about turning off your feelings about your mother being abused by your alcoholic father? I remember Shay mentioning that he wanted to see it when it first came out, but I don't think he ever did.

Matt and Trey both said the general Mormon response ranged from quietly polite (as bad as Mormons publicly get) to genuinely loving it. There's a good number inside jokes and references that really only Mormons and former Mormons could fully appreciate. I had two good Mormon friends growing up and they both thought it was hilarious. The church even took out ad space in the playbills. It said "You've seen the play, now read the book!".
