Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the look either. I love doing colourful looks but even I wouldn't do this look. Just didn't seem attractive to me. And then when she was saying how easy and minimal it is I couldn't help but think "yeah, because you need a break from the number of long, elaborate videos you've been doing lately" (sarcasm).

Ugh, that tutorial was HORRIBLE. No offense, but the yellow on the lower lash line looks so so so so bad. She could have used the green shadow instead. She sounds so monotone and looks really unenthusiastic in the video- very convincing to tell your followers to get the palette, Kathleen.

I hate it when youtuber stuff up a name or garble their words in a voiceover and leave it in. Just delete it and re-record please! It's so annoying to constantly hear people correcting themselves or struggling to describe something.

That tutorial was eh. I mean, I personally don't think that she's the best at eyeshadow, but I kind of expected a liiiittle more than that. It would have been cool if she made the look bolder and put some more thought into it. I'm sure that if you add one more color or change one it would make a huge difference.

Her friend Gaby just uploaded a super bright tutorial with the artist palette before Kathleen did. Much more imaginative in my opinion. But right after Kathleen posted some bolder more colorful look with her MUG shadows. Trying to prove something I guess? ETA: nobody cares about those damn Anastasia artist palettes because they are limited edition. She has even said she doesn't like doing limited edition tutorials because then people can't buy it.

What I think would have been smarter to do, is make a swatch/review video of the Colourpop highlighters which released today 4/28. Because that is what people wanted to see, that is a company that has collabed with her and she should be supporting. And she could have used that to remind people to buy her quad and lippie! I don't see how she doesn't realize that?

That is the whole freaking point of gurus getting sent products before they release. So they can review them for us and get us excited. And tbh Kathleen at this point should just stick to making her reviews really good because her tutorials have been lackluster. She keeps doing these one shadow all over lid looks. And to this one she just added yellow to the bottom.... And yes the green probably would have been more complementary.

Yellow and purple are complementary colors so while you may not like how it looked, I think she was right in using them together. However, I think that artist palette was a waste of money. Those colors are hideous tbh.

Yes, I realize that. I guess I just find the shadow pulls more red than purple, which would make more of a green color complementary. I think these gurus have weird ideas about what is purple because they are always showing shadows they are calling "purple" and they look very red to me.

ETA: maybe it is just her lighting, but that shade looked more burgundy than purple.

I thought cranberry or burgundy too! Definitely not a true purple to me.

I'm color blind so I saw it more blue-ish which is why I guess I thought it was more purple-y.

Makes sense, I wasn't saying you were wrong or anything. I just think in general when I am watching gurus they show shadows that are cranberry/burgundy/ or very red, and they call it purple. And I personally consider purple to be more blue based.

Her newest 2 instagram posts are for Boxycharm and Fruitteatox mentioning TinyTea. Are these gurus dumb? We know these are sponsored posts! They are paid to feature these items in their social media. She isn't sharing out of the goodness of her heart, it is because she is getting paid! And wtf does tea have to do with makeup?!

That yellow would have looked so much better in the innercorner & tearduct....not on the fucking lower lash. So sloppy, first she does a tutorial with just ONE eye shadow and now this. If this is what her standards have officially fallen to, I'm gonna be unsubscribing soon. I just need one more shitty sponsored video and I'm out

Well since she barely uploads videos anymore i don't know when that will be but if you look at her instagram all those posts are sponsored!

I remember her saying Painterly is one of her favorite primers in one of her old videos.. I don't remember what video, but I know she mentioned it. She wasn't like OMG MY FAVEEEE -spaz- like Jaclyn, but she's always had it. I think she's just blowing up her personality 10x ever since she got more subscribers.
