Kayli is challenging Casey's views on gun control, it seems like. We all know how he feels about it so it's interesting that she's getting some perspective on her own. As a non-american, your country is a mess. No one I know can believe that gun control is even up for debate, that's how crazy it is to us.
Sadly so, I was born and raised in Texas and never in my life have had any relationship with guns. No one in my family owns one or will ever have a need for one. Casey was just at some NRA convention prior to the Florida shootings and it's repulsive how attached they are to them. Not related to this family, but I remember watching a vlog of Ellie and Jared's and the sisters got handguns for Christmas and everyone was smiling and glorifying them. It reminded me of some sick horror film in the making. I absolutely lost hope in mankind since Sandy Hook, if we cannot even save our innocent children then how greedy have we as a people become? It is sick. When I was attending school at Texas Tech there was a bill passed for open carry of handguns on campus with those who have a concealed handgun license. We never know the mental state of anyone, only ourselves.
NRA is fuckin corrupt.

I'm pretty sure Brailee and Gage have been given guns for Christmas. I think it's normal where they live (Utah/Idaho)ittybittykitty wrote:the idea of giving someone a fucking gun for christmas is WILDlalala69 wrote:This is sort of a rant all over the place so please feel free to skip over since not pertaining to the Mormon robots.ittybittykitty wrote:Another video in which they never actually say anything except "it's so hard to talk about".

Yes! Come over to the Carlie thread. She already called the baby "him" and isn't as excited about it as she was when she found out about Elliot.Summersby wrote:Sooo Carlie is pregnant again...

Yes it's very sad! We don't know if she found out the gender yet but she did call the new baby "him" and didn't correct herself on a tmv episode today.Summersby wrote:Aww, seriously? We've just noticed she doesn't seem as happy and hopeful about this pregnancy already as she did when she found out about Elliot. So we wondering if she already knows its a boy and shes already disappointed. She's due in October.

I like never watch momsview these days because... why would I. but i watched today and Colette never gets to speak. LIKE EVER. I would love to have heard her talk more about her kids dating and how she approaches Avia and Gavin differently but Kayli and Carlie just but in acting like the smartest people on earth. Obviously Kayli is a wonderful mom and person but not everyone had the same high school life as her. Also these ladies are so heteronormative and when Kayli was like "Focus on your friends more then crushes" I was like or have crushes on your friends, the ultimate gay loophole!

Re: TheMomsView
Did anyone catch Kayli throwing shade at Carlie by saying that she doesn’t need Botox. She looked right at her when she said that. Carlie just had a smirk on her face.
She also said to Carlie “when you have a daughter in the future” what could that mean?

This was best TMV episode in a long time. I don't agree with all their advice but they actually delved into the topic instead of skirting.

Re: TheMomsView
why do they even bother with dating at 16. They’re not allowed to have sex or spend the night at their partners house. I grew up in a liberal city where dating meant having sex. It must be so hard to be a 16-17 year old Mormon who can’t go past 1st base. I wish Kayli would just tell Braille to stop being so thirsty. She’s too boy crazy. I can’t imagine avia crying over a boy. I bet she has already planned her wedding in her head. I got shamed a lot by my mother for being boy crazy. Which I think it helped made me more independent and less obsessed with being in a perfect relationship.mariamay9 wrote:This was best TMV episode in a long time. I agree 100%. Was hoping to hear Colette's thoughts on the subject and gave up after 10 minutes or so. Carlie ruins the videos for me. How hard is it to just shut the fuc* up and LISTEN instead of constantly trying to dominate the conversation._nt13_ wrote:I like never watch momsview these days because... why would I. but i watched today and Colette never gets to speak. they also have SUCH a heteronormative way of thinking. It doesn't even occur to them that their girls might not be "boy crazy" or their boys might not want to date girls. Unless they're asked directly about it, to which their response is "well I don't agree with it, but..."

Religious people aren’t known for following the rules of their religion, especially horny teens. Same applies to all moral crusaders.Rhea85 wrote:why do they even bother with dating at 16. Hormonal teenage girls being ‘boy crazy’ is normal and not something that should be scoffed at or shut down. It’s another aspect of society that tries to suppress female sexuality. People don’t react that way towards teen boys. They’re allowed to be as openly obsessive as they want. It’s just ‘boys being boys’. Teens should go through all those inevitable emotions and drives naturally, including heartbreak. It’s a stage that will quickly pass. It’s just not healthy to try to suppress and repress your kids into being emotionless robots. As long as it’s not interfering with other aspects of life, there’s no problem.

It's true. Just the term "boy crazy" is derogatory. Boys who like a lot of girls are "studs" or "players"-- still. It's part of growing up to be interested in dating. I would prefer my daughter date around some than get tied down to a relationship early on. Same with my son.

Agreed. I think its important for young teens to go through dating a relationships so they know how to develop and know what they want in one. Its not good to stifle kids normal relationships.lmmomSD wrote:It's true. Just the term "boy crazy" is derogatory. Boys who like a lot of girls are "studs" or "players"-- still. I hope the Butler moms teach their kids about how to be safe and responsible if they do choose to have sex later in high school.

Re: TheMomsView
Mormons don't have sex until marriage. It's a BIG DEAL in their religion—and I'm 100% sure the Butler wives would lose their shit if any of the kids had sex before marriage (maybe not Carlie because she was a train wreck herself as a teen). That's why they get the "Choose the Right" rings at a young age...to remind them to always make the "right" choice. The "no sex until temple marriage" is a big reason they all get married so young.mariamay9 wrote:I hope the Butler moms teach their kids about how to be safe and responsible if they do choose to have sex later in high school.
Kayli's attitude seems the healthiest. I think Brailee will turn out better adjusted than the other girls in the family...but I could also see her getting married at 18/19 like her mom. I honestly don't see any of the Butler girls getting a college degree in the future. That's sad.

Re: TheMomsView
while this is all true, we all know they break that rule constantly because horny teenagers don't give a fuck. Carlie had a shotgun wedding. It's much better to teach them how to be safe and responsible because if they plan on having sex they'll find a way to have sex regardless of what anyone else says.ewokfan11 wrote:Mormons don't have sex until marriage. But let’s remember that Carlie was a sophomore in college (age 19) when she lost her virginity and had cooper. I doubt Colette or even Kayli would be okay with letting their kids have sex while in high school or living a promiscuous lifestyle. Even Logan has been pretty tame despite breaking all the moron rules. He has not dated much besides Morgan (current fiancé) and that girl from YouTube. Kayli mentioned that she wishes Braille would get married at age 30. I don’t understand how that would be possible in the Mormon community. Especially since she’s around so many women who have married young and are obsessed with creating large families.
